Wait, Nerdly and Dudley and Noobley? Oh my, this could get... odd.

A good series requires that each comic be individually funny.

Well said, G.

I'm in almost complete agreement, though I would add this caveat: a comic need not be funny on its own, however it can be funny when taken in context with earlier comics, but that's kinda obvious.

I'm afraid that I have to agree with G here. Comics need to stand alone, whether or not they're part of a series.

I, for one, found it rather funny. I rated it Good(tm)

Mr. Nameless, you are quite a useless voter in here. Since a big part of the voters have nothing in the Name/E-mail field, the one to decide their vote is the last one to vote. No matter how many have voted, only one counts. So, get youself a nick.

You mean the system counts only Nick'ed votes? that's odd.

otherwise, the close-up thing would have been fun, if it hadn't been done before.

Note that the nameless user above ("") is not the same as Nameless, who is a far from useless user here.

That "newt(kinds of) small animal, like a lizard, which spends most of
its time in the water.
        [ Oxford's Student's Dictionary of Current English ]

"Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."

" looks more like a slimeThese giant amoeboid creatures look like nothing more than
puddles of slime, but they both live and move, feeding on
metal or wood as well as the occasional dungeon explorer to
supplement their diet.

But we were not on a station platform. We were on the track ahead
as the nightmare, plastic column of fetid black iridescence oozed
tightly onward through its fifteen-foot sinus, gathering unholy
speed and driving before it a spiral, re-thickening cloud of the
pallid abyss vapor. It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster
than any subway train -- a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic
bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes
forming and unforming as pustules of greenish light all over the
tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us, crushing the frantic
penguins and slithering over the glistening floor that it and its
kind had swept so evilly free of all litter.

Roger Barnett:Here is a comic that was considered to be good, but wouldn't have been funny on its own: http://www.nicolaas.net/dudley/index.php?f=20040325

Indeed. Merits only a fair. Not the fairest, mind you, but fair.
