Please don't give the DevTeam such a vile notion as this. |

Just think how scary it could be, if the dev team added a 1% chance of zapping the at yourself if confused/stunned... probably not too bad, but you might zap yourself with Cancellation, or . |

What about when you're hallucinating?
I worked out a fill-in-da-blank type thing for this situation, in case people are interested. (Curly braces denote a blank, and brackets contain examples of what goes in the blank)
"A stream of {[deadly],[freezing], etc.} {[Cheese-Whiz],[tooth-paste],[plastic], etc.} zooms out of the {[ballpoint pen],[skewer], etc.}, and hits you." |

Honestly Jac, where's your sense of adventure?
You can lay eggs. if female, and have tame spiders. You can poison enemies. Your offspring can poison enemies. You can spin webs. Also, being polymorphed is like full healing + extra hp : when your hp go to zero you return to previous form with full hp, no matter what your hp was before. Great fun. |

It's a good thing you mentioned that, Gadora, or we would be in serious trouble.
But of course the should do this. That is, as long as we get adequate compensation. |

The wands in NetHack are not some pointer tools used by teachers to extend their pathetic reach! No, the mystic fagots in NetHack represent the equilibrium of power, the esoteric extrapoly of effervescence, and the balance... between life and . Lo, the is a mystic tool with powers beyond your comprehension! Your mind would explode 200 times over learning how a nothing is made! Wands do not have points, wands can be used from either side, or from neither, pointed in a direction parallel to its target, if it needs one at all. The secret is intent. You must will the into shooting its desired effect at the enemy. The secrets behind a power are limitless and full of chaos, whilst protected by law and a void of neutrality. The power is a mystic shaft, not to be taken lightly or pondered with such trivialities such as "pointing". You people sicken me.
'Saruman!' he cried, and his voice grew in power and authority.
'Behold, I am not Gandalf the Grey, whom you betrayed. I am
Gandalf the White, who has returned from . You have no
colour now, and I cast you from the order and from the Council.'
He raised his hand, and spoke slowly in a clear cold voice.
'Saruman, your is broken.' There was a crack, and the
split asunder in Saruman's hand, and the head of it
fell down at Gandalf's feet. 'Go!' said Gandalf. With a cry
Saruman fell back and crawled away.

A consists of a thin, straight, hand-held stick of wood, ivory, or metal. Generally, in modern language, wands are ceremonial and/or have associations with magic but there have been other uses, all stemming from the original meaning as a synonym of rod and virge, both of which had a similar development.
Magic wands commonly feature in works of fantasy fiction as spell-casting tools. Few other common denominators exist, so the capabilities of wands vary wildly. Note that wands fill basically the same role as wizards' staffs, though staffs generally convey a more 'serious' image; a fairy godmother would definitely use a , possibly with a star on the end, while Gandalf as surely would not. In dramatic fiction, wands can serve as weapons in magical duels.
In Dungeons & Dragons and D&D-derived computer role-playing games such as NetHack, wands function as storage devices for specific magical spells, which a wielder can only use a certain number of times before running out of "charges". Wands often allow non- characters to use spells, and also enable wizards to use spells they couldn't ordinarily cast.
The most important aid in ritual magic is, and always will be, the magic . Since the days of yore magicians and sorcerers have been pictured with a magic want. Charlatans and stage illusionists are still making use of it today, trying to throw dust into the eyes of the audience by all sorts of tricks. The person who thinks it suffices to hold a magic in his hand is led astray. Above all, the magic is the symbol of the will, the power, and the strength by which the magician maintains his influence on the for which he has made and charged it. |
