I like having a storyline here... but where did the : go from the previous strip? Run away?

BTW, to add to what I said for yesterday's strip, I don't think these stink like some people have said. But it's good to note what people like and not like when writing your own strips (to all, not just Tiny).
To help with that, Dion, would it be a bad idea to have a rating system in place (1-5). Wouldn't be too hard to implement considering you already have other counters. And it would help writers to create strips that are liked (oddball ones gets 1's and pure nethack 5's etc).
And having it in place before next week would be soooo nice <evil grin> (no stress, joking).

That's a good idea... and of course we'll all make nice helpful comments and only flame Ts, right? It might be intimidating to new writers (like me) to have to submit their work and have a harsh first review.

Wonderful idea, Eskimo. I haven't sent in any ideas yet but I've been thinking....

Sorry about offtopic, but Eskimo, did you know that your nick is in Finnish?

A descriptive comment goes much further than a rating. Besides, its fun to see what others like about the comic potential by what they write.

I'd hate to see Dudley get ruined by Kosian style group think enforcement.

Offtopic: Eskimo is written like that both in Finnish and English.

Ontopic: Sounds good Eskimo.

"Kosian style group think enforcement?" Hardly ever been there, but if you think Kos"I am not a coward!" he cried. "I'll dare Thieves' House
and fetch you Krovas' head and toss it with blood a-drip at
Vlana's feet. I swear that, witness me, Kos the god of
dooms, by the brown bones of Nalgron my father and by his
sword Graywand here at my side!"

Does that mean anyone liked or disliked this strip?

tiny k

p.s. I think humor is kinda like food... some everyone likes, some are only liked by some people, and some just stink. I think most fall into the middle category. Also when people introduce new ideas and change the status quo of what they normally expect, they tend to not like it not based on its merit but rather based on the fact it is not the same.

Thats strange, things I put in asterisks came up bold. I thought you had to add an html tag to get the text to change.

A billion comments to roll into one:

"A descriptive comment goes much further than a rating."
True, but it's much easier to click a rating than actually write a comment (hoping people don't spam the rating) especially as people might have trouble with the "question".

Eskimo is Eskim"aa" in Swedish (my native tongue :-).

(where the aa is actually an a with a dot on top, html is not automatic here and I'm not adding that umlaut html myself this time :-)

Mantar: Agrees with the principle, disagrees with dissing Kos"I am not a coward!" he cried. "I'll dare Thieves' House
and fetch you Krovas' head and toss it with blood a-drip at
Vlana's feet. I swear that, witness me, Kos the god of
dooms, by the brown bones of Nalgron my father and by his

Goodgods: Ok. I'll spell it out for the mentally challenged. On lefty website run by Kos"I am not a coward!" he cried. "I'll dare Thieves' House
and fetch you Krovas' head and toss it with blood a-drip at
Vlana's feet. I swear that, witness me, Kos the god of
dooms, by the brown bones of Nalgron my father and by his

, (visited twice) unpopular opinions may get you branded a crackpot, laughed at, and ridiculed. It's free speech, deal with it. OTOH, on righty website LGF, (visited three times) unpopular opinions, both left and right, will get you ridiculed, get your post DELETED, and your IP BANNED. If you post unpopular opinions, and the only thing that happens is you get flamed, suck it up. Don't go wandering around to random sites blubbering about it.

Mantar: Still agrees, but now erupts in full blown hissy-fit for dissing Kos"I am not a coward!" he cried. "I'll dare Thieves' House
and fetch you Krovas' head and toss it with blood a-drip at
Vlana's feet. I swear that, witness me, Kos the god of

You, my overly worked up friend, are in a far greater need of additional coping skills. That you like to continue to show us just how much you need is funny.

The Newt(kinds of) small animal, like a lizard, which spends most of
its time in the water.
        [ Oxford's Student's Dictionary of Current English ]

"Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."
