You could do with a potionPOTABLE, n. Suitable for drinking. Water is said to be
potable; indeed, some declare it our natural beverage,
although even they find it palatable only when suffering
from the recurrent disorder known as thirst, for which it
is a medicine. Upon nothing has so great and diligent
ingenuity been brought to bear in all ages and in all
countries, except the most uncivilized, as upon the
invention of substitutes for water. To hold that this
general aversion to that liquid has no basis in the
preservative instinct of the race is to be unscientific --
and without science we are as the snakes and toads.

Hey! Wait a second! Panel 1!
Blue jellies are incapable of movement!

Either A) someone lubricated the dungeon floor,
B) those two moving jellies are ochre jellies, or
C) Dion screwed up by not checking the plausiblity of his scenario in WizardEbenezum walked before me along the closest thing we could
find to a path in these overgrown woods. Every few paces he
would pause, so that I, burdened with a pack stuffed with
arcane and heavy paraphernalia, could catch up with his
wizardly strides. He, as usual, carried nothing, preferring,
as he often said, to keep his hands free for quick conjuring
and his mind free for the thoughts of a mage.

Mode (which you are required to do if you want to get the top marks in Dudley's Dungeon Comic-Writing College - figuratively speaking, that is.)

This strip's funny only by virtue of containing gratuitious overuse of the word 'jelly'. He should've kept going with:

Jellybane bisects the jelly!

The jelly gels! The jelly gels!

You kill the jelly!

You are splashed with the blue jelly's jelly!

Welcome to experience jelly 2.

You feel gelatinous!

The hidden gelignite explodes!

And so on...

Mucho excitement! I just checked my emails, and Dion has accepted my comic submission. Which is pretty darn cool when you consider I only discovered this place about a week or two ago. Keep your eyes peeled at the end of September...

PS: For some reason (and despite the large number of times "jelly" appears on this pageThese strange creatures live mostly on the surface of the
earth, gathering together in societies of various forms, but
occasionally a stray will descend into the depths and commit
mayhem among the dungeon residents who, naturally, often
resent the intrusion of such beasts. They are capable of
using weapons and magic, and it is even rumored that the
Wizard of Yendor is a member of this species.

), Google ads saw fit to provide me with three links about "absinthe" (which a quick search reveals is some sort of alcoholic drink).

L: Or Jellybane has the power to attract the jellies towards it! Which is why they are all in a big jelly of jellies around Dudley there.

It's best to check for stuff in src/monst.c as well just in case stuff doesn't work well for you in-game (it tends not to)

Addendum: The queue of comics extends to next September? Has anyone been on a sudden writing spree?

"We have head explody" ? Am I supposed to have heard THAT one before as well?

(I'm having enough trouble keeping up with "sword-chucks" and "Trogdor the Burninator" as it is.)

What, no gratuitous puns about being in a sticky situation? Aw.

One can only hope Dudley doesn't find an anthill...

An encounter with a succubusThe incubus and succubus are male and female versions of the
same demon, one who lies with a human for its own purposes,
usually to the detriment of the mortals who are unwise in
their dealings with them.

I'd like to dip my cramIf you want to know what cram is, I can only say that I don't
know the recipe; but it is biscuitish, keeps good indefinitely,
is supposed to be sustaining, and is certainly not entertaining,
being in fact very uninteresting except as a chewing
exercise. It was made by the Lake-men for long journeys.

Both the comic and L's first comment made me laugh ridiculously hard. The only thing from this site that compares was that "storm cloudI wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
