Stealing jokes, shamma bamma boom...
I'm not so sure this one really worked out. The original joke's humor was in the fact that Smart would make a very minor step down from his original claim, which by virtue of being very minor, immediately exposed it as a fabrication. For Dudley, of course, any claim of his is so inherently ridiculous that only a major step down would allow him to reclaim any shred of plausibility. |
