Amusing. Though there are always things to wish for, even in that situation. For example, wish for one of the artifacts that confers magic resistance just by carrying it (assuming that one is correctly-aligned). If you get it, that'll stop the blasts so that you can get to someplace safe (at which point you wish for blessed scrolls of charging and carry on as you usually would). |

This is why you engrave-test unknown wands immediately.
Also, wishing for a artifact when at 6HP is a bad idea. |

Well I have. The point is that you really cannot enjoy your wishing with only one turn, since the wishing takes one. You'll die a horrible unless you're very lucky. :) |

One, if you did that, you'd get blasted by the artifact, quite probably more than 6 hp.
Two, you're dealing with a monster with a cold or a winter (cub). MR won't help you, but reflection will. Hmm, on second thought, it has to be a /oCold, since that does 6d6 damage as opposed to 2d6 of a winter breath weapon.
Now, personally I'd wish for a digging and zap it down. You actually have pretty good odds. Of course, an reflection is about the same. Intrinsic speed, slow monster with the , no problem, really. The real 'noooooo!' comes from not engrave-testing ;) |

Indeed, always engrave-test right away!
I'm trying to remember if I've ever found a randomly generated wishing. I think so, but I don't remember the circumstances. I do remember the time I found a at DL5 or so and got two wishes in a row from it. |

I once found a WoW (dropped by a ) right beside the box with the standard WoW in it.
Good comic, though I'm sure that actually happens every now and then. |

I just found a wishing in a on level 4 today. :) Naturally the only had one charge, but since I wished for 2 blessed scrolls of charging, I was OK. Only got one , but I'm not complaining. The GDSM came out +2, as did the gauntlets of power (I'm playing a ).
Other than that, it's been a sucky game, no altars, no shops, no -o-holding (until my third wish). Even the temple in minetown is cross-aligned. I guess the RNG placed this and decided to make up for it elsewhere. I didn't find the on my first trip down because it was in a locked and I didn't have an unlocking tool until I bought a key from the minetown hardware store. |

Haha! That's all Hack, that's pure laughter. In Finland, the result of such a situation would be called "vitutuksen multihuipentuma" (roughly "a multiple highlight of cuntish moods"). |

I once found two wands of wishing on the same level, possibly both in chests; I forget exactly how. Still, I managed to fail badly in that game anyway. |
