Heheh, 1200 gil says the 3's got a wand of'Saruman!' he cried, and his voice grew in power and authority.
'Behold, I am not Gandalf the Grey, whom you betrayed. I am
Gandalf the White, who has returned from death. You have no
colour now, and I cast you from the order and from the Council.'
He raised his hand, and spoke slowly in a clear cold voice.
'Saruman, your staff is broken.' There was a crack, and the
staff split asunder in Saruman's hand, and the head of it
fell down at Gandalf's feet. 'Go!' said Gandalf. With a cry
Saruman fell back and crawled away.

Not only is it subtle, it's a math joke.

G for grin.

Evidently I'm not getting it...

Maybe the third panel isn't sarcastic, as the 3 changes to 3! = 6?

The less subtle way would have been to convert the 3! in the third panel to a 6 in the fourth. Still, I'm all for math jokes :)

:)

I really wish the rendered text for the comments kept the characters the same distance apart so that we could show mini NH-screens. But no, we have to deal with stuff like

It took me a while to get it, as I thought Dudley was just being sarcastic.

Excellent joke, but the 3! one should have been the ending punchline.
