If anyone wants to do the panels for the thing I posted Feb. 1 (Yeldud encounter) you're free to send it in. you can also make a few changes if you want. Just credit me as the original creator.

I'm very glad Dudley is back. Thank you, Dion!!!

Hope you all don't go away either as on certain days half the comic was the comments ;-).
Dion, you know the pageThese strange creatures live mostly on the surface of the
earth, gathering together in societies of various forms, but
occasionally a stray will descend into the depths and commit
mayhem among the dungeon residents who, naturally, often
resent the intrusion of such beasts. They are capable of
using weapons and magic, and it is even rumored that the
Wizard of Yendor is a member of this species.

hits for your site. Would be interesting to know how many that "last" ascension post generated. DOH, stupid me, says 2583 right down there in the corner lol. That's a lot, even if it would take "reloads".
And boy, doing something for a long long time and needing a break (or quitting altogether) is such a familiar feeling I wish you the best of luck...

The "quiz" is good. It keeps out prospective trolls (but, regrettably, not newts like JMesh).

a few times before I get a question I can answer. I've never seen an opulent throneMethought I saw the footsteps of a throne
Which mists and vapours from mine eyes did shroud--
Nor view of who might sit thereon allowed;
But all the steps and ground about were strown
With sights the ruefullest that flesh and bone
Ever put on; a miserable crowd,
Sick, hale, old, young, who cried before that cloud,
"Thou art our king,
O Death! to thee we groan."
Those steps I clomb; the mists before me gave
Smooth way; and I beheld the face of one
Sleeping alone within a mossy cave,
With her face up to heaven; that seemed to have
Pleasing remembrance of a thought foregone;
A lovely Beauty in a summer grave!

and often get chests and weapons mixed up but the trollThe troll shambled closer. He was perhaps eight feet tall,
perhaps more. His forward stoop, with arms dangling past
thick claw-footed legs to the ground, made it hard to tell.
The hairless green skin moved upon his body. His head was a
gash of a mouth, a yard-long nose, and two eyes which drank
the feeble torchlight and never gave back a gleam.
[...]
Like a huge green spider, the troll's severed hand ran on its
fingers. Across the mounded floor, up onto a log with one
taloned forefinger to hook it over the bark, down again it
scrambled, until it found the cut wrist. And there it grew
fast. The troll's smashed head seethed and knit together.
He clambered back on his feet and grinned at them. The
waning faggot cast red light over his fangs.

AGAINST QUIZ: If you're so pissed off about the quiz, then don't post. I mean, what's the point in going through the agony of having to refresh ten times just to complain that you had to refresh that many times?

Anyway, this week is getting better and better! First, Enterprise was canceled (die, bastard, die!), and now, Dudley's back!

Well, sort of. At least he's not riding a gigantic horseKing Richard III: A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!
Catesby: Withdraw, my lord; I'll help you to a horse.
King Richard III: Slave, I have set my life upon a cast,
And I will stand the hazard of the die:
I think there be six Richmonds in the field;
Five have I slain to-day instead of him.
A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!

Luinegaladh: Nice to know I'm not the only one celebrating. I watched only two episodes of that temporal chroniton-infested crapathon, and then I had to watchThese strange creatures live mostly on the surface of the

a lot of TOS so I wouldn't feel dirty anymore. Will Rick Berman even accept any plots that don't involve time anymore? Voyager was all time all the time, and then Boobyprize was only worse. I like my generic space nazi plots without the chronitons, please!
Hmm. I should try reviving the Star Trek patch sometime and add a Rick Berman monster so I can kill it in righteous vengeance.

t- a scrollAnd I was gazing on the surges prone,
With many a scalding tear and many a groan,
When at my feet emerg'd an old man's hand,
Grasping this scroll, and this same slender wand.
I knelt with pain--reached out my hand--had grasp'd
Those treasures--touch'd the knuckles--they unclasp'd--
I caught a finger: but the downward weight
O'erpowered me--it sank. Then 'gan abate
The storm, and through chill aguish gloom outburst
The comfortable sun. I was athirst
To search the book, and in the warming air
Parted its dripping leaves with eager care.
Strange matters did it treat of, and drew on
My soul page after page, till well-nigh won
Into forgetfulness; when, stupefied,
I read these words, and read again, and tried
My eyes against the heavens, and read again.

Oh, asterisks make things bold... Woah, I just got the quiz that asks what a fountainRest! This little Fountain runs
Thus for aye: -- It never stays
For the look of summer suns,
Nor the cold of winter days.
Whose'er shall wander near,
When the Syrian heat is worst,
Let him hither come, nor fear
Lest he may not slake his thirst:
He will find this little river
Running still, as bright as ever.
Let him drink, and onward hie,
Bearing but in thought, that I,
Erotas, bade the Naiad fall,
And thank the great god Pan for all!
