Sometimes Biff finds it is hard to get to the phone in time since the floor is made of lava.

I like.

Mainly because it clearly states that this joke doesn't work. I value honesty.

I agree with Grognor. Being the first to say your joke doesn't work doesn't change anything.

Yes it does. When author himself knows that the joke doesn't work, and tells it everyone, the joke actually magnifies tenfold.

It's like... Have you read Eragon? If the protagonist would've, in any point of the story, told how big cliché the whole "Chosen one" thingy was, it'd've worked muchos better. Same thing here.

(I'ven't read Eragon.)

Sigh...apparently I have to join Grognor's grumpy squad.

This series truly and utterly sucks.
- The original jokes don't work. At all. Anywhere.
- The jokes don't work in NetHack, true. Is it a good thing?
- The joke about jokes not working in NetHack doesn't work.

Sorry but I don't want yet another "there's no joke" webcomic nor any references to those. Ten times zero is still zero. Write jokes that WORK in NetHack, people!

Rant over.

I get a feeling the problem is that these comics are posted whenever Dion doesn't have any left. So we're treated with terrible jokes because he's scraping the bottom of the submissions barrel.

Have to agree with Grognar. This is starting to feel like one of those terrible Saturday Night Live sketches where even the cast know it sucks, but they just keep going, occasionally shooting embarrassed looks at the silent audience as the sketch drags on, and on, and on.

Actually, having read a couple of the Biff comics, I like Rosengarten's version better than the original:
www.thebookofbiff.com/category/comics/pageThese strange creatures live mostly on the surface of the
earth, gathering together in societies of various forms, but
occasionally a stray will descend into the depths and commit
mayhem among the dungeon residents who, naturally, often
resent the intrusion of such beasts. They are capable of
using weapons and magic, and it is even rumored that the
Wizard of Yendor is a member of this species.

Oh hey, I have fire resistance, what am I worrying about? Anyway... Yeah, I don't know where I got the 'a' from. Must've been cosmic rays.

You say that when an author is the first to say something doesn't work that it magnifies it 10 fold... well lets do some basic math...

0*10=0

Yup, ten times zero is still zero.

The problem is, the jokes in the Book of Biff aren't funny in that comic either.

The joke about doing jokes that don't work in NetHack was funny the first time.

PS: Since there's no other direct link on this pageThese strange creatures live mostly on the surface of the

occasionally a stray will descend into the depths and commit
mayhem among the dungeon residents who, naturally, often
