) a weapon (a silver
sabreFlashed all their sabres bare,
Flashed as they turned in air,
Sab'ring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wondered:
Plunged in the battery smoke,
Right through the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reeled from the sabre-stroke
Shattered and sundered.
Then they rode back, but not--
Not the six hundred.

named GrayswandirWhy had I been wearing Grayswandir? Would another weapon have
affected a Logrus-ghost as strongly? Had it really been my
father, then, who had brought me here? And had he felt I might
need the extra edge his weapon could provide? I wanted to
think so, to believe that he had been more than a Pattern-ghost.

@ "All right!"
You hear a doorThrough me you pass into the city of woe:
Through me you pass into eternal pain:
Through me among the people lost for aye.
Justice the founder of my fabric mov'd:
To rear me was the task of power divine,
Supremest wisdom, and primeval love.
Before me things create were none, save things
Eternal, and eternal I endure.
All hope abandon ye who enter here.

@ "Hey!"
@ a humanThese strange creatures live mostly on the surface of the
earth, gathering together in societies of various forms, but
occasionally a stray will descend into the depths and commit
mayhem among the dungeon residents who, naturally, often
resent the intrusion of such beasts. They are capable of
using weapons and magic, and it is even rumored that the
Wizard of Yendor is a member of this species.

Reminds me of the, er, 8-year old console freaks who all post the same exciting idea in the forum for a game series I'm particularly fond of: Hey, wouldn't the game be SOOO MUCH BETTER if the main character could become invincible, preferably early in the game? It's so hard the way it is!

I mean, where's the thrill if it's, like, challenging and stuff?

It gets particularly irksome in the once-a-year "What would you like to see in the next game?" thread. More powerful weapons, less powerful foes, more powerful allies, invincibility, two-weapon combat... Repeat until distracted by the next shiny thing, or banned for spamming the forum.

Hey, I don't think these two are as bad as they're getting bashed by. The reverse order did spoil a lot of the message.

You know what I hate? When I play versus an elementary or middle schooler in a fighting game, and she or he just presses random buttons, while I actually have strategy, and she ends up winning, the stinker! Sheesh.
