I've tried to understand. I went as far as looking for references and allusions. Could someone please elaborate on it? I'm assuming either most of it got deleted, or it is a case of deja vu...

The text is actually monsters. There's a 'd' right above him, and it's attacking...it wasn't that funny, IMHO.

I stay away from the top of the screen for exactly this reason.

I read my email only occasionally, is it because I hate to see an @ near so many monsters?

LOL. That's actually pretty clever, but it could have been made a bit more obvious.

Clever but I agree, the monsters should have moved. Shows how hard it is to make these comics lol. Once you think you are done, show it to a friend and see if he gets it. Funny Dion didn't comment on it (he always commented on mineMade by Dwarfs. The Rule here is that the Mine is either long
deserted or at most is inhabited by a few survivors who will
make confused claims to have been driven out/decimated by humans/
other Dwarfs/Minions of the Dark Lord. Inhabited or not, this
Mine will be very complex, with many levels of galleries,
beautifully carved and engineered. What was being mined here
is not always evident, but at least some of the time it will
appear to have been Jewels, since it is customary to find
unwanted emeralds, etc., still embedded in the rock of the
walls. Metal will also be present, but only when made up into
armor and weapons (_wondrous_).

There wouldn't be game text on the same row as part of the map.

Now that I understand the comic, I was able to get a smile of it. This is proof that you have to make sure that the joke is obvious, or at least not

I think the idea is that "You die..." is part of the map, but "The dogA domestic animal, the _tame dog_ (_Canis familiaris_), of

Wait, does the message line ever cover part of the map, though? I thought it had a row or two all to itself.

Also, instead of an ellipse, the dots really should continue across the top of the screen. And there should be dots in between the words. But then, that would alter, subtly, the nature of the joke, IMO.
